The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) announced on May 1 that the 2026 MEAC Softball Championship will begin on May 6 in Norfolk, Virginia. The tournament will run for four days and conclude with the championship game, which is scheduled to be broadcast live on ESPN+ at noon on Saturday, May 9.

The tournament will open with a series of games at TowneBank Softball Field located at Norfolk State University. The first game will see No. 4 seed Norfolk State Spartans face No. 5 Morgan State at 11 a.m., followed by No. 3 South Carolina State Bulldogs against No. 6 Coppin State at 2 p.m.

Howard University enters as the top seed and will play in the third game of the day at 5 p.m., facing the winner of the opening match between Norfolk State and Morgan State. Delaware State, seeded second, is set to play in the final matchup of opening day at 8 p.m., where they will take on either South Carolina State or Coppin State.

Tournament action continues Thursday with three more games: two elimination contests from the consolation bracket are scheduled for late morning and mid-afternoon, followed by a winner’s bracket contest in the evening to determine one finalist for Saturday’s championship.

Friday’s schedule includes two additional elimination games, culminating in a final contest that determines who advances to face Saturday’s unbeaten finalist for the MEAC title.

Further details about brackets, team information, and live scoring can be found through MEAC’s official Softball Championship Central page at MEACSports.com.

The outcome of this tournament will decide which team claims this year’s conference softball crown.
