Okwudibonye leads Delaware State at Princeton Larry Ellis Invite with first-place finish

The Delaware State men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invite, according to a May 4 announcement, with Miriam Okwudibonye delivering a notable performance.

Okwudibonye finished first in the women’s 400-meter hurdles elite section, clocking a time of 58.60. This result ranks as the second-fastest in both her career and in Delaware State history.

Other performances included Kahlia Smith running the women’s 400-meter dash elite section in 56.63 seconds. Rebecca Jansen completed the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 18:03.54, while Valerie Ashamu recorded a high jump mark of 1.68 meters for Delaware State.

The team aims to build on these results as they continue their outdoor season.
