The Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association announced on March 10 that Sanford and St. Elizabeth will face off in the 2026 Girls Basketball State Championship.
The upcoming game is significant as it determines the top girls high school basketball team in Delaware for the season, following a competitive semifinal round.
Sanford, ranked number one, earned its place in the final after defeating Smyrna with a score of 60-39. St. Elizabeth, holding the third seed, advanced by winning against Ursuline with a score of 56-40. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday, March 14 at 1:00 PM at the University of Delaware Bob Carpenter Center.
Tickets for the event will be available to the public starting Friday, March 13 at noon through University of Delaware Ticketing. A single ticket grants entry to both the Girls Basketball Championship and the Unified Basketball State Championship, which follows at 3:00 PM as part of a doubleheader. Fans planning to attend either game should purchase tickets for the Girls Basketball Championship.
All basketball championship games will be streamed live via The NFHS Network. Additional details about streaming can be found on The NFHS Network website. Complete brackets for all state championship games are posted on DIAA’s official website.
