Kent County's two universities invested $1,892,214 on their basketball teams in 2023, a 17.9% decrease from the previous year, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

The county’s funding for the basketball teams comprised 11.1% of all money invested in sports teams in 2023.

Delaware State University stood out as the university in Kent County that received the most basketball funding during 2023. The institution received $1,788,450 - or 94.5% of all the money destined to basketball teams.
