The Delaware Department of Justice has joined other states in a multi-state inquiry of the Juul Labs, Inc., the entity responsible for manufacturing e-cigarettes.
Thirty-nine states have come together to launch an inquiry and investigate the marketing and manufacturing practices of Juul Labs. The marketing strategy of the labs allegedly targeted youth and allegedly brainwashed them into buying e-cigarettes, which allegedly led to multiple deaths of teens across the country.
The manufacturing process of e-cigarettes will also be under scrutiny and the investigators will analyze the amount of nicotine present in the cigarettes and its overall impact on the health of adolescents, according to Delaware Public Media.
The attorney general of Delaware, Kathy Jennings, highlighted the danger that tobacco as well as e-cigarettes posed to kids and adults alike.
“The dangers of vaping should concern all of us," Jennings said.
She also expressed her concern over the increasing number of advertisements for nicotine products.
