We at Kent County Today, a media organization dedicated to comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, have requested this information under the Delaware Freedom of Information Act § 100001 et seq. We have asked for these records preferably in an electronic format.
The specifics of our request include a list of all candidates that are running for the upcoming election. For each candidate, we've asked for their first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; the jurisdiction of that office; and their party affiliation.
In addition to these details, we've also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As members of the media committed to providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information to the public, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
