FOIA Request to Delaware State Board of Education Regarding Instructional Mandates for State K-12 Schools on December 10, 2024.

At Kent County Today, we believe in the importance of transparency and accountability when it comes to public institutions. As part of our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we have submitted a request under the Delaware Freedom of Information Act § 100001 et seq.

The request was made to the Delaware State Board of Education for a list of all instructional mandates for state K-12 schools. This includes all required courses and general instruction that are mandated by the state.

As media professionals committed to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. It enables us not only to hold public institutions accountable but also provide transparency to the public.

We believe that as members of the media involved in disseminating information, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals. We await a response from the Delaware State Board of Education and will keep our readers updated on any developments regarding this request.
